Certified Tutor

My name is Wardah Ghafoor, I have a bachelor's degree in English Childhood Education from CUNY York College. Last year I worked as a First Grade Teacher and have worked previously as a teacher for an academic program, I also worked five years as the head teacher at a Sunday School and have tutored children at home. In my spare time I work as a coordinator of a nonprofit organization that feeds the homeless every week, and I was also the President of two clubs at my college. I have received 27 credits from my major in Early Childhood Education. In my previous job I was working as First Grade Head Teacher, I have taught children from first grade to twelfth grade. I taught a class of twenty-four first graders. My job duties include making lesson plans, assisting students with homework and academic help, helping students develop necessary studying skills, assisting students in realizing their full potential, evaluating student performance, maintaining educational records, reports, or files, conducting parent/ teacher conferences, recognize student learning levels, recognizing student problems, resolving behavioral or academic problems, using special education techniques. This previous year my first graders scored the third highest on their State Tera Nova Math exams and also scored in the first percentile for ELA State exams. I also have hundred hours of field work experience in different classroom settings with different teachers teaching different grade levels. I was given the leadership award from my college for my dedication during 2014 and 2015 year.
