Certified Tutor
As a tutor and educator, I strive to ensure that every student is heard and learns in the way that works best for them.
My previous experience consists of working one-on-one with students in grades 1-5 in developing and improving their numeracy, reading, and writing skills. I also have worked one-on-one with younger children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in developing their math skills, language skills, life skills, and social skills.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and I am currently a Teacher Candidate at Queen's University in the Consecutive Education Program to obtain my Bachelor of Education.
I specialize in Elementary Language and Grammar - including reading and writing. I can also assist with Grades 1-5 math and basic music sight reading (reading notes and music theory).
When it comes to teaching, I aim to teach students in a way that relates back to something they are well-versed in. Learning can be fun and I enjoy having a fun, welcoming environment while also supporting students throughout the steps in their learning journey. I am very adaptable and open to suggestions or comments to help my students' learn better and at the pace that is appropriate for them. In this safe and encouraging environment, I strive to ensure that students both learn the content and develop a sense of self-confidence in their skills.
