I'm a great tutor because I was a great teacher!

I spent 18 years at the same school as a classroom teacher, Talented and Gifted Coordinator and Title 1 Literacy Specialist. I am positive that the reason I was so successful was because of the relationships I worked hard to foster with kids and their families. Leading with humor, kindness and a listening ear, I am able to get to know each kiddo so I can customize their learning.

I relate to kids and their parents incredibly well. I built my long teaching career on the power of positive relationships and it paid great dividends for me, as well as my students. Because I had such strong bonds with students, administration usually gave me students that were considered difficult. I am patient, kind, empathetic, positive, fun and persistent. As a student, I was pretty bored in school for many years so I understand the value of keeping things fresh, interesting and relevant.
During my teaching career, I was also the school's TAG coordinator. I also have extensive experience working with students that struggle with organization/executive function as well as ADD/ADHD students.

In 2013, I chose to leave teaching (on excellent terms) because I was ready for new adventures that I am currently pursuing. Currently as a full time student, I am available variable days and times.
