Certified Tutor

One of my first memories is sitting in my father's veterinary lab, watching him conduct tests on dozens of agar plates. Throughout my childhood, I accompanied my father to his lab or to field assignments to collect samples from livestock. Growing up in a household where everyone has a science degree, it was a natural choice to pursue an undergraduate major in biological sciences and I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2015.

While I immensely enjoyed my time as an undergraduate student, I soon realized that there were other paths I had left undiscovered in my educational journey. Until the age of nine, I was raised in Nepal, a beautiful country but one fueled by political unrest and uncertainty. I always had an interest in global policy and recognized a passion to eventually work in international development. I enrolled at UT Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs with a Master in Global Policy Studies degree. The two years I spent in graduate school were the most fulfilling and intellectually challenging time. At the LBJ School, I honed my critical thinking, research, and writing skills.

While in graduate school, I wanted to maintain by "science muscles" and thus served as a teaching assistant to Pre-Med students. I taught a variety of biology and genetics classes, both lectures and labs. From this experience, I gained enormous leadership skills, learned to teach as various knowledge levels. After instructing more than 200 students during my time at UT, I gained immense appreciation for teaching. With my unique background in both the social and natural sciences, I am excited to start my journey as a tutor and to help students achieve their own goals this summer.
