I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham with a First Class BSc Natural Sciences (Chemistry). My final year dissertation was titled Effective Teaching Delivery in First-Year Kinetics, as I have a real interest in finding the best methods to support student's learning so that they may have the best chance to succeed. I also coach basketball at the professional level as well as go into schools and community outreach projects to teach basketball and other generic sports classes. This experience has developed my ability to work with students to develop plans for their learning, in which the student makes the major decisions on how to approach the content. I will guide them and provide them every opportunity to engage with the content but this way, the student gets a say in their learning, helping to keep them engaged and motivated. During school and A-levels, I also led student study groups to help support other students with their studies at the same time of improving my own knowledge.
My lessons will be focussed on identifying the areas that are most difficult to the student. We will not simply aim to recall information but learn it in a way that the student can apply and use the knowledge to reach the higher grades. The lessons will be online and will utilise visual aids that I have developed for the student

Degree: University of Birmingham - Bachelor, Natural Sciences (Chemistry)
I coach professional basketball which takes up the majority of my time. I am fascinated by the integration of statistics into team development, alongside analysing video to make team and individual adjustments. My logical scientific brain integrates into basketball to aid how I see the game compared to most other coaches. In the same vain as coaching, teaching others is a passion of mine as I am able to support others further their own learning/development. Furthermore, I have a passion to travel only increased by spending a year studying in the US. The differences I saw in both education and culture during that time has made me appreciate the need for finding ranging ways to support students rather than just one-size-fits-all.
