I have a BA degree in English with focuses in Education and Theatre from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. I have been tutoring for over 7 years in the subject of English which specifically includes sub-topics of Literature, Writing, Grammar, Spelling, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Speaking and ESL. I particularly enjoy writing and literature focuses as these subjects give opportunity for creativity and are fun! Additionally, I have a strong focus in Theatre which includes acting, directing and playwriting with over 20 years experience in this area.
With tutoring, my style is to determine your style...your learning style. I believe you are best helped and can succeed if I know whether you are an auditory or visual or hands-on learner (or any combination). I also enjoy giving an assessment based on your subject area(s) where you need the most assistance so I can determine your strengths and weaknesses. I will then offer a plan for your success and begin working with you on enhancing your subject area. Carpe Diem for we will begin a day of positive change! Take steps forward and the effort is well worth achieving SUCCESS! I enjoy tutoring because I like to help others meet goals in life and see their productivity. It is awesome when I hear "I passed the test!" or "I got the job!" or "Thank you for helping me grow. We did it!" Teaming with an individual on a mission to succeed is honoring and well worth the time.
My hobbies include hanging out with family, writing, theatre, watching college football, playing tennis and I run a non-profit local to my area which activates wholesome arts as a form of giving back to the community.
