Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and Centenary College. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, grades Kindergarten through eight. I received my "Nursery School Certification " from Centenary College. I am working on my Masters Degree and have completed one semester thus far. My first teaching experience was in a Pre-K Classroom . I enjoyed teaching Pre-k so much that
I went back to school and completed "Nursery School Certification." After
graduation, I taught school in "Caddo Parish Public Schools" for twenty three years. I taught Pre-k, kindergarten and Second Grade, earning the award of " Highly Qualified Teacher,"
under the "No Child Left Behind," program. I worked for a private tutoring company after school which
prepared fourth grade students for the Leap and I-Leap Test. During the summers, I taught summer school
in third grade, fourth grade Leap Remediation and ELA to eight grade students. I held "Make and Take," workshops for Pre-k and Kindergarten parents. In these workshops, I incorporated math, reading, language arts, science and social studies activities that parents could take home for their child. In my teaching experience, I loved teaching Reading/English Language Arts and working with "Tittle One" students. I believe every child's first school experiences should be positive. These early years are when students learn to love school and education. I emphasized the importance of education and made learning fun for both students and their families. This is why I Love to teach lower elementary grades. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, learning how to play the guitar and fishing.
