I earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from Morgan State University, located in Baltimore Maryland. I majored in Math because, after trying out a few other majors, I realized it was the one subject that came easiest to me, and actually found fun. Even as a kid, I've always enjoyed solving puzzles and games. So, learning math was a way to apply my problem-solving talent and my love of logic.
I'd say, I first realized I also had a passion for TEACHING math during my experience as a graduate teaching assistant. Thus, after finishing college, I'd often teach math as an adjunct professor. Eventually, I decided to go all in, and I taught math at a high school in Washington D.C. for a couple of years. I followed that up by teaching at a community college in the D.C. area for over a year.
After that, I moved from D.C. to the Dallas Fort-Worth area (where I still reside), and took a short break from teaching.
But the teaching bug wouldn't go away. So, in 2010, I returned to the academic world, and I obtained a full-time Math Instructor position at Tarrant County College here in DFW, and worked there for 10 years, where I grew both personally and professionally.
One of my strengths is my communication skills, and over the years I worked hard to hone many of my explanations, to make them as clear and concise as I think I can.
Some of the compliments that I've received from students I taught and tutored is that I'm patient, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.
