Savannah
Certified Tutor
I am a third-year student at Wheaton College (MA). I am working towards my Bachelor of Arts as a double major in English and Anthropology, with a minor in General Education and Marketing. Since graduation, I have worked with children and young adults throughout my life, volunteering as an English teacher in the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua for Outreach360, working as a daycare and preschool teacher creating opportunities for early language learning and acquisition, and am currently almost completed with my TEFL (Teaching English Foreign Language) certification, which includes grammar, methodology, classroom and virtual work, and teaching adult learners. I tutor in English Language Arts, focusing on both language and literature. I work with a wide variety of materials and interests to ensure that students improve and engage with their learning. As a tutor, I see myself not only as an instructor but also as a mentor and advocate for my students' success. Whether assisting with essay writing, dissecting literary analysis, or fostering language skills, I tailor my approach to meet each student's unique needs and learning styles. I firmly believe in active learning and the importance of critical thinking. Part of fostering a love for lifelong learning is demonstrating how our ability to learn and share what we know well is a crucial life skill, inside and outside the classroom. I enjoy reading, dancing, and a competitive bingo game in my free time.
