I am a proud graduate of Western Michigan University now based out of Arizona. With four years of classroom experience teaching music (grades 5-12), three years of private piano tutoring (ages 4-9), Bachelors degrees in music education and; music composition, decades of performances on a variety of instruments, and professional editing experience (for Chinese language/culture instructional materials) comes practical experience in both best pedagogical practices and the ability to work with a variety of cultures and student needs. I am excited to learn more about you and help you grow!
Instrumental music offers a world of opportunities and offers a freeing form of self-expression. You're not bound to the voice you were born with; you can create any music you want. It offers community and common experiences in addition to improved cognitive functioning/development and higher standardized test scores.
Writing is a critical skill; it gives our ideas life, allows us to share them, and facilitates connection. I am honored to use my experience to help you.

Interests and hobbies include: -Music performance! I currently perform with a concert band and brass choir on trombone. (I've also performed on a variety of other instruments, including Appalachian mountain dulcimer, percussion, voice, and clarinet.) -Dungeons and Dragons! Ask about my forest gnome rogue. -My cats! Their names are Flute and Banjo. No, I did not name them. -Spending time with friends and loved ones.
