to teach drawing inferences in Lesson Plan Three.
Students will practice reading comprehension, vocabulary, and point of view. They will determine the characters' points of view and how they differ from their own. Students will practice responding to text-based questions both orally and in writing, providing evidence from the text to support their claims.

Students read the story, work in pairs to analyze the illustrations and text, and compare and contrast points of view. After rereading the story, students apply their knowledge of point of view by writing a short story from an ant's perspective.

Students make predictions, then listen to see how accurate they were. They write about greed and making bad decisions. They review chronological order of the story.
