Certified Tutor

I am a New York State Certified teacher who would love to tutor your child! I am originally from Summit, NJ but now reside in the Upper East Side. I have my Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and I just received my Master degree in Childhood and Special Education from NYU. As an elementary teacher, I understand how important it is for students to get that individual attention that they may not always get in the classroom (despite their teacher's best intentions). In classrooms these days, it is easy for a child to slip back and not reach their fullest potential--not with me! I am fully dedicated to make sure that each of my students reaches their highest potential, no matter where they stand academically. Through my teaching experience, I have had the chance to teach a diverse group of students including those challenged by autism, learning disabilities, noncompliant behavior, as well as children who function on and above grade level. I have gained in-depth knowledge of accommodating different styles of learners and incorporating effective methods to meet the diverse needs of my students. Teaching should not be a done with a one-size-fits-all mentality, and I am here to make sure that each of my students learns in the way that works best for him/her. In my free time I enjoy exploring everything NYC has to offer, as well as cheering on my favorite New York sports teams (go Giants!) and traveling to new places.
