Morissa
Certified Tutor
As a former full time English teacher and a current part time yoga teacher, I guess you could say teaching has always been a calling for me. I truly enjoy guiding, supporting, and helping to move people forward toward their goals; this type of work is infinitely rewarding.
In addition to reading! and yoga! I also enjoy cooking (and eating!), spending time outdoors, traveling, and simply relaxing with family and friends.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals in writing, reading, literature, school, and life!

What is your teaching philosophy?
Every student can achieve if he believes!
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In a first session I would get to know a little about the student's interests, and I would also most likely give a short assessment in the subject area at hand.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Students provided with the right tools and with problem solving skills can become more independent learners.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would help students stay motivated by encouraging them to focus on the end goal; on the larger success that can be reached by achieving small successes.
