I love helping people and I love education, which is why I love teaching!
I believe everyone can learn if they truly want to. After all, everyone has potential. I also believe that we can do hard things if we put our minds to it. For example, I chose to study Spanish and became fluent in college, without having to go on a study abroad.
If we use our resources, work hard, and do our best, everything will work out. I've seen this principle in action throughout my life. I have an AAS is Arts and Sciences, a BS in Home and Family Living with a minor in Spanish, and an MA in Hispanic Linguistics. Since I graduated in 2013, I also spent two years working for FamilySearch.org and two years as a middle school teacher. Believe me; it was hard, but it was absolutely worth the work to be able to tutor now!

How would you help a student stay motivated?
Positive feedback--that is to say, positive reinforcement when a student does something correctly. When an answer isn't correct, I'd help direct the student to the correct answer with kind, encouraging words. I know learning can be challenging, but the satisfaction of overcoming a mental block is incredible!
