I was born, raised, and currently live in Naperville, IL, a suburb about 25 miles southwest of Chicago. Fortunately, Naperville has a strong school system that I was a part of from elementary to high school. I graduated from Naperville North High School in 2012, and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a finance degree in 2016.
Education has played a central role in my life, from early youth until today. The first lesson learned was how to be disciplined. I learned how to put in the time and mental effort to be successful, and this work ethic has helped me in any venture I've pursued. I also learned how to deal with not being successful. Even the smartest people struggle in some areas/subjects, but what's important is developing the ability to admit when you don't know and seek help. Working one-on-one, whether with a teacher or mentor, has helped me turn a corner in multiple subjects over the course of my academic career. Learning how to deal with adversity can certainly be applied in all areas of life. Finally, I've realized that education is a lot more fun when you share the experience with others.
