I'm a teacher at heart. Whether it's sharing my love of music, swimming, or reading - I love to help students work their way through difficulties and celebrate their triumphs.

My years as behavioral therapist have really helped me to hone my skills as a teacher. I am better able to get to the root of what is causing problems for a student, and then to tackle it. I firmly believe that students are capable of anything they put time and effort into - but every subject will be different for every student.

When studying with me, our student will learn not just the materials at hand but more importantly -

*Good study strategies and tools
*How to objectively evaluate their progress
*Strategies to calm themselves and try again when frustrated or upset

I find that much of what students need is simply the permission and space to be comfortable and acknowledge that they need help. Learning is a process, but so often students are made to feel that every concept is "pass/fail", and that can kill their confidence - which destroys their ability to learn. It's one big, awful snowball!

My goal is to help your student master materials, AND build their confidence in themselves again. I hope you will help me to do that!
