I love watching a student light up when they suddenly understand something that has eluded them. It's a great feeling, when everything falls into place. Competence builds confidence and practice makes progress.
I recently graduated with my second BS, in Computer Science, with a 4.0 GPA from University of the People and am currently studying for an MS Analytics specializing in Computational Data Science from Georgia Tech (the #4 school for Data Science in the US).
I have decades of experience tutoring middle school, high school and college math, computer programming, and analytics. I've been in business for myself, tutored for other platforms, and worked in a variety of roles in high tech. I wrote a best-selling technical book about web analytics for small business.
The word student" comes from latin and it means to focus on something with passion and the deep desire to learn. It implies both agency and diligent labor. I expect my students to put in the time and effort, but in return, they typically gain at least one letter grade, sometimes two, rising from a C to an A, or from failing to a C. I may be new to 51Թ, but this is not my first rodeo. Let me help you (or your child) achieve confidence through competence.

In my spare time, I indulge in the creative arts. I enjoy pottery, hand quilting, millinery (hat making). I find that the arts are a great complement to a STEM career. My personal/professional focus is Data Analytics, NLP, text analysis, Machine Learning, AI, LLM. I look forward to a career in Generative AI.
