Homeschool Tutoring FAQ
It can be a very personal and challenging decision to pursue a homeschool education regimen for your child. The laxity of many state requirements can make it difficult to plan lessons and develop a curriculum at the right developmental level for your child. Parents often seek assistance from tutors in designing and implementing an appropriate curriculum. No matter your reasons for homeschooling, the priority is to provide you and your child with the best educational options available.
51勛圖厙 can help you connect with a homeschool tutor so that you and your child can receive the assistance of an instructor who can put your child's needs first. Whether you are looking to provide advanced instruction in a specific field of interest or simply want to expose your child to different teaching methods to expand his or her ability to integrate new concepts, tutors can help you achieve your unique homeschooling goals. You can work with your tutor to design a custom curriculum for your child, catered to his or her individual learning style, interests, and goals.
51勛圖厙 understands that each student has different learning habits and processes information in different ways. When you contact us, our educational directors will talk with you in depth and work to build a profile for your child. Based on this comprehensive profile, we can help you connect with a tutor who is compatible with your child's study techniques, interests, level of mastery, and even personality. The goal is to make education an intuitive process by having a tutor who is relatable and whose teaching methods correspond to your child's specific learning style. A private tutor can also be beneficial because as an outsider they can be more objective. You may have difficulty identifying exactly where your child's strengths and weaknesses lie, but a private tutor can help you make this determination. Once they are able to identify the areas where your child is already proficient and what areas they still need to work on, they can help you develop a lesson plan that will help limit your child's problem areas while maximizing their opportunities to utilize their strengths.
Private homeschool tutoring also provides your child with the opportunity to pursue the subjects that interest them most. Perhaps your child struggles to organize his or her writing style during essay compositions, but has already advanced into the realm of quantum dynamics in physics or is well-versed in the nuanced history of Babylonian culture. Tutors can work to strengthen any areas of weakness without stifling your child's advancement in the areas he or she finds most fascinating. Many tutors hold advanced degrees in their field of study, and some work in related fields. By working with a tutor who has experience and insight into your student's areas of interest, lessons can become more engaging.
Your tutor will work to make homeschooling as easy and accessible as possible. A tutor's flexible schedule allows you to have sessions whenever and wherever works best for you. Lessons can take place in the mornings, evenings, or even on weekends, and the location is entirely up to you. 51勛圖厙' live learning platform also allows you and your child to meet a private tutor face-to-face online. This provides you with the maximum level of convenience and flexibility because it allows you to pick the time and location that works best for you and our child. Whether your child feels most comfortable studying at home, at a local library, outdoors, or online, a private tutor can be there. For more information about homeschool tutoring, contact 51勛圖厙 today and let us help you connect with the perfect tutor for your child.

Recent Homeschool Tutoring Session Notes
The student and I met again today at 4pm. He worked on his math--imaginary numbers and quadratic formulas--which is the newest unit he is working on in his Algebra 2 class. Then we talked about his other homework, made a plan to get a planner, looked at the Haiku online website to see how it works, talked about how he needs to get his password reset so he can see his grades online, and then made a regular schedule to meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 4pm.
This was my first session with the student. We reviewed the courses he's taking this semester, as well as his objectives for our tutoring sessions. We decided to create two plans of action for his this term: one will focus on his homework and studying habits, and the second will focus on his plans to transfer back to a four-year school. The student's goals are to work on note taking, self-motivation, writing papers, and studying for exams. We plan to meet each Monday and Wednesday at 4:00pm this term.
Today, the student and I had an excellent session on goal-setting. Because this is a short week at her school and she was low on assignments, I brought a worksheet on creating S.M.A.R.T goals. We worked through the sheet together and while she did most of the thinking about how to reach her goal (maintaining at least an 80 average in science and math), I offered suggestions as to different challenges she may expect and how to create a timetable to manage mini-goals that will arise. Toward the end of the session, we also reviewed for a French oral exam she has tomorrow. The student seemed to progress with reading through the passage she was assigned. I left her with the assignment to find another "sponsor" for her S.M.A.R.T goal to help with support, and to read through the French passage several more times, focusing particularly on pronunciation and cadence in order to prepare for tomorrow.
Today was entirely a review day. We focused on all of the skills and organizational tools the student has developed and discussed how to maintain those skills. We introduced one new element last week, the concept of a study schedule, and this week he was asked to expand on it. Lastly, we talked briefly about his goals and how to accomplish them.
The student and I reviewed math homework and studied for her science test. We created a list of topics to make review sheets for. She is definitely on the right track with studying. She had already made a great study sheet and had ideas for more!
This entry covers two sessions I had with the pupil. During the first one, we met briefly to discuss how the plan we had created in our previous meeting had worked for his assignments. He admitted he had fallen a bit behind, so we discussed priorities, and how keeping priorities in mind will help him figure out how to allocate his time. We also worked on his calendar, ensuring it was up-to-date, and updated his desktop sticky note.During our most recent session, we came up with a plan for him to tackle his next few weeks of work since he has a lot of upcoming assignments. We set specific goals for each day and wrote them down in his calendar and on his desktop sticky notes. We also discussed strategies for arranging meetings for group projects.
