By connecting you to resources and instruction that are flexible and effective, these services can help you make the most of your GMAT preparation. The GMAT is an important part of many business school applications. Schools such as Creighton University or the University of Nebraska at Omaha may look at your GMAT score when you apply. Because a high GMAT score can have a significant impact on your academic career, it is important to study well.
The GMAT is a three and a half hour exam that assesses a person's readiness for the challenges of business school. Some people take the GMAT directly after their college years because they plan to go on to business school. Many people take the GMAT while they are in the workforce because they want to experience the benefits that a business school degree can bring to their career.
What can I study during Omaha GMAT prep?
There are four main sections of the GMAT that you will go through. These sections are Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and an Analytical Writing Assessment. You are able to arrange these sections in one of three orders on the day of the test to customize your experience. Each section contains certain skills and knowledge that you are expected to know. To give you a broad overview, here is the layout and content of these sections.
The Verbal Reasoning section is based on your ability to solve problems that are based on written data. You must understand the question, analyze the data, and think critically to answer these questions well. This section displays your ability to evaluate arguments, use the English language effectively, and draw inferences. There are 36 questions in this section, and you will have 65 minutes to complete them. These questions are all in multiple-choice format. This section, as well as the Quantitative Reasoning section, is scored from 0 to 60. However, scores from 6 to 51 are most common for these sections.
The Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMAT contains 31 multiple-choice questions that are focused on your ability to apply logic and mathematical reasoning to problems based on objective data. For some of these questions, you must use the provided data to answer the question. For others, you must determine whether the data provided is sufficient to answer the questions. Your analytical, mathematical, and logic abilities will be tested throughout the 62 minutes of this section.
During the Integrated Reasoning section, you will encounter data that comes from several different types of sources. While some of the 12 questions in this section will only require you to analyze one data source, some will require you to work with a combination of tables, graphs, numbers, or text to solve complex questions. You will need to evaluate trade-offs and identify the relationships between multiple data points to score well in this section. You will have half an hour to complete this portion of the exam, and you will get a score between 1 and 8.
In the Analytical Writing Assessment, you will read a provided piece and evaluate the strength of the argument that is made in that piece. You will then write a response that details your findings. Throughout this 30-minute section, you will need to display an awareness of English conventions, effective argumentation, ways to organize your writing, and evidence-based writing. You will receive a score from 0 to 6 on this section.
What can Omaha GMAT prep do to help me review well?
As you seek to prepare for the GMAT you can get ready in either a group context or a one-on-one context. For a group learning experience, an Omaha GMAT prep course provides a collaborative and interactive learning environment. If you would rather work with a skilled mentor, you can register to work with an Omaha GMAT tutor.
In an Omaha GMAT prep class, you are able to learn alongside other students in a virtual classroom. You can hear live lectures from your instructor and interact with other members of the class. In addition to the instruction your teacher provides, the opportunity to talk about the material with the class allows you to see the material from different perspectives. This allows you to internalize the content you encounter and think deeply about what you are learning. You instructor can take extra time to address areas of concern for the class, or you can schedule a time to meet outside of class with your instructor if there is an area of the exam you are struggling to understand. All instructors for Omaha GMAT prep classes know the material for the exam well and can teach the content effectively.
Because there are various sessions of these classes that start every week, you can begin your studying at any time. In addition to choosing between two and four-week classes, you can choose classes that meet at times that fit your schedule.
An Omaha GMAT tutor can design sessions that are based on your particular needs. By creating a plan suited to your goals, learning style, and abilities, your mentor can help you to maximize your study time. In addition to preparing for the content of the exam, your academic mentor can also work with you to develop test-taking strategies to address the specific challenges and time constraints of the GMAT. The interactions you have with your mentor can increase your skills and confidence as you approach the exam.

As an educator for 20 years in both the US and Canada, I enjoying working with students of all ages. With a background in Special Education and tutoring for test prep (GED, ACT, SAT), I have a heart for those who find it difficult to succeed in the classroom. It is my passion to encourage students and help them learn strategies to succeed in their education and in life. ... All students have the ability to learn, so the challenge, as a teacher or tutor, is to understand how the student learns best. Utilizing that learning style, I desire to encourage the student and provide opportunities for the student to succeed. Beyond the current learning style, I believe it is important to equip the student with skills to learn in any classroom environment which they may encounter. Critical thinking skills are equally important to prepare the student for both classroom success and life.

When I was in 8th grade, I was struggling with pre-algebra (I couldn't seem to wrap my head around distance/rate/time problems). I found myself loathing a class I had once loved. I started working with a tutor and going from barely getting by to being successful in that class was a very fulfilling feeling that I hope to continue to pass on to others.... The best teachers are always trying to learn as well.... Get to know his/her likes and dislikes, and identify where they are strong to build up confidence. Create a friendly and casual atmosphere.
