Studying for the GRE can be tricky, but 51Թ can connect you with a Washington DC GRE prep course that could make a difference. The GRE is very important for students who are applying for grad schools, and your score on this test can have a major impact on which schools accept you. If you're preparing to take this test, you might have your eye on grad programs offered by George Washington University, or Georgetown University. Many students who are preparing for the GRE are willing to do whatever it takes to reach their full potential. And if you want to give yourself every chance of success, you might need a little extra help.
The GRE is a standardized test that is sometimes required for grad school applicants. This test is designed to assess your true academic potential, putting aside all extraneous factors that might have impacted your past academic achievement. This test is split into three sections: Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. The entire test should take about 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete. The GRE is offered in over 160 different countries, and most students access it by computer. Thousands of colleges and universities take the GRE into account when processing applications, so it's always a good idea to take this test. Not only that, but it's imperative that you perform to your fullest potential.
A Washington DC GRE course can help you do just that. These courses are completely online, and they're taught by highly qualified, expert instructors. These instructors can help you gain a greater understanding of the GRE through virtual classroom sessions. During these sessions, you'll learn alongside other students who are also studying for the upcoming GRE. You'll all work together in a collaborative learning environment, asking questions and interacting with each other and the instructor. Of course, you'll also have the opportunity to book some private time with your instructor for one-on-one help if you need it. This is a great option if you're having trouble with a few tricky subjects during your study sessions.
What Does A Washington DC GRE Course Cover?
Your instructor might cover a wide range of topics during your GRE course, although all of the topics you'll cover will be relevant to the three different sections of the GRE. In order to fully grasp the requirements of the GRE, you'll need to gain a deeper understanding of each section and also learn how you should be approaching each one. Each section involves completely different skills, and it's important to know exactly what you'll be facing in your GRE. Here's a basic rundown of each section:
The Analytical Writing section includes only two components, and both of these are short essays. In the first component, you'll be asked to analyze a random issue in your written answer. You'll have thirty minutes to complete this component. The second component involves analyzing a random argument, and you'll again have thirty minutes to write out your complete answer. You GRE instructor might teach you the importance of planning out your responses before you actually start writing them out. Organization is one of the keys to answering these questions with speed and efficiency. That's why it's very important to write an initial outline. On the other hand, the writing itself is just as important. The GRE will test your ability to articulate your analysis. You'll also be expected to provide examples and reasons, as well as evidence. Both of your written responses need to be clear and concise, with a strong command of the English language.
Like Analytical Writing, the Verbal Reasoning section should take about an hour to complete. This section actually comprises many different types of questions, including reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence. Reading comprehension involves answering questions based on written passages. Each passage could be several paragraphs long, and you'll need to answer several questions based on each passage. There are a total of ten passages waiting for you in the GRE. Text completion involves filling in blank sections of written passages, and you'll choose from 3-5 options to provide the best choice. Sentence equivalence involves taking incomplete sentences and picking from a variety of options to complete them. In this section, you can actually choose two answers for each question. Verbal Reasoning tests a wide range of skills, and your instructor might provide you with the knowledge you need to tackle this section.
Quantitative Reasoning is almost entirely based on math skills. The questions might focus on algebra, data analysis, geometry, and even basic arithmetic. You'll also use logic and reasoning to solve a number of the questions in this section. The three different question types in this section are multiple choice, numeric entry, and quantitative comparison. The most important thing about studying for this section is getting enough practice with various math problems. A Washington DC GRE class might be able to really help with that.

After graduating with a degree in philosophy, my conscience left me with no choice but to find a job doing something meaningful. Like Aristotle, I think the ability to think for yourself is essential to living a happy life. Like Socrates, I think inquiry is essential to cultivating this ability. I love people and I love conversation. To engage personally while exchanging and inspiring ideas is, for me, one of life's greatest pleasures.... I strive to engage my students as much as possible by asking questions, while providing them with the background, support, and confidence required to learn. Before I start tutoring, I spend time reviewing the concepts until I have a renewed, thorough understanding and appreciation of the topic.
